Jasmine Pearl China Sourced from:

Louise the tea taster says

These tea temples house lovely little pearls of hand-rolled green tea tips which have been delicately infused with pure jasmine flowers. The leaves are just allowed to rest amongst the flowers to pick up their floral scent - jasmine tea doesn't get any purer than this. Once you cover with water,, the leaves will unfurl from the hand-rolled pearl to reveal a whole leaf and a bud - surprisingly hypnotic viewing we think! These particular pearls are often called "dragon phoenix pearls" – that’s because the tea bushes on the hillside  look like a dragon coming out of the water. Although I've seen these bushes climbing the hillside I've yet to see a dragon getting out of a bath, so I can't vouch for the accuracy of this claim, unfortunately!

how does it taste?

Very delicate green tea with a light, floral, refreshing, natural jasmine taste.

good if you're feeling

in need of relaxation and detox. Like all teas, this is bursting with antioxidants - the good guys that help keep us young and healthy

    Brew for 3+ minutes
  • One tea temple per person, infused with water at 80 degrees C. (If you don't have a fancy kettle or thermometer to hand, grabbing the kettle just before it boils will do the job!) .
  • Loose tea - 4 to 6 pearls per person. Infuse for 3+ minutes.

Whole leaves take longer to brew, but the little wait is definitely worth it

How we like it

Au naturel - glass teapot, jasmine pearls, add water and relax.

Just cover one tea temple with boiling water and infuse for 3 minutes. Remove temple and top-up glass with iced water.

I had high hopes for this one. And many of my friends love it.
The smell is really good, but it tastes kinda bitter and to me it feels like drinking perfume.

One of the best teas in the world

I have been drinking good tea for three or four years now, and have tended to gravitate towards black teas as I like their depth of flavour. However this Jasmine tea, and the Mao Feng green have made me reconsider. Of the two, the Jasmine is the winner. It is utterly sublime and it's a close call between this and another company's Bohea Lapsang for my favour tea of the 200+ I have tasted.

Another fine tea from the TEAPIGS people!
An excellent Jasmine tea with loads of depth and the perfect level of Jasmine, if you combine with a little sugar you’ll find the complexity of the tea increased. 1 Tea temple goes a long way. I use a 500ml mug for my Jasmine Tea and get two mugs per Tea temple (1 Litre!) The first mug complex, mild, sweet and aromatic, the second I allow to infuse until the tea is cool enough to drink, has a much more subtle relaxed flavour yet still very enjoyable.
Nice one Tea Pigs!

The best

Love this tea so much! Jasmine has always been my fave, but the price elsewhere has always meant it has been a treat. Buying it through Teapigs is great because I save money and the taste is still fantastic. Really high quality tea, lovely fragrange and taste. Love it!
