Each month, we run a competition with our wonderful stockists, to find our stockist of the month! This month, their challenge was to show us their best halloween display, and the winner was Cant a Mil Vintage in Wales. Here's a little more about them...

How long have you been a teapigs stockist and what made you choose our tea?

We’ve stocked teapigs since we opened in June 2014.  I’d had teapigs in another shop (Cardiff’s Deli Rouge) and liked the variety on offer.  We sell teapigs for customers to drink in the shop but also a lot in packets as gifts.  At Christmas we make up teapigs hampers with vintage china which are really popular.

If you could only have one teapigs tea for the rest of your life, which would you pick?

Superfruit – I drink it every day already!

What made you want to set up shop?

I had wanted to open a Welsh language bookshop for quite a while but it wouldn’t have been viable on its own.  For about 18 months I had been doing vintage stalls, mainly with clothing, and realised that the two things could make a great combination!

Have there been any hiccups along the way?

Of course, plenty!  It takes time to work out what works in the area and what your customers want and are prepared to pay for.  We now sell a happy mixture of Welsh language books, cards, cds, dvds and gifts as well as all kinds of vintage: clothing, furniture, china and all things quirky!

Have you ever had any exciting celeb customers?

Our claim to fame is Welsh musician Gwenno.

Gwenno’s dad is a very good customer of ours so I often know what she’s going to have for her birthday and Christmas presents quite a while ahead!

Apart from tea (obviously!) what is your best seller?

Our ‘bread and butter’ is definitely our Welsh language cards.  We stock a large range of fun and attractive cards which are really popular with everyone.

What’s the craziest customer request you’ve ever had?

How long have you got?

Stuffed leopards, alien costumes, karate suits, Mills & Boon …
