Louise the tea taster says

how does it taste?

Like a dark chocolate mint, that you'd have after 8pm. Slightly retro.

good if you're feeling

Nostalgic - bring back the 80's (or was it 70's?)

How we like it

Best drunk as it is. No need to add anything.

Brew Time

  • tea temple - 1 per person. Infuse in boiling water. Brew for 3+ minutes.

Whole leaves take longer to brew, but the wait is definitely worth it.

like an 'After Eight' in a cup

* * * * * by Morgan M • 13th May 2017

“If you've ever tried After Eight chocolates you'll know the delicious taste of mint and chocolate combination.

Teapigs has managed to capture that perfect combination with this tea, and it's an absolute treat to drink.

The only setback is that it only comes in a small box. 15 bags just isn't enough for a tea like this”

“Totally amazing! As indulgent as hot mint chocolate but minus the calories, yum, thank you Teapigs :)”

Amazing but leave it to brew!

* * * * * by Becky Harris Cowley • 17th October 2014

“The first time I made this it was OK. The second time I made it I left it to brew for much longer and the taste was amazing! I thought it might taste a bit like watery hot chocolate but it doesn't, the chocolate and mint together really works.”

Love it

“I love this tea, very light and refreshing.”

Smooth with a hint of goat!

* * * * * by Matt Hill • 24th October 2014

“This is an amazing tasting tea, not sweet and very calming. It leaves a creamy aftertaste that clears the pallet very quickly. The aftertaste initially is difficult to put your finger on until you think of goat! Not in a bad way but it does have a goaty aftertaste that leaves the pallet feeling fresh and clean, not minty as expected.”

“I really liked this- just sweet enough without being overwhelming, and the mint makes it lovely and refreshing. Just the thing for those moment when you fancy something chocolatey but are trying to be good.”

“This tea is so yummy! If only it came in a bigger box or loose leaf. I would highly recommend it and get everyone to smell it. I even gave a few away to some friends.”

A Little Indulgence

“Delightfully light and a real treat especially when sweets and indulgences have been restricted. Leave to brew.

My favourite sweet treat is the Licorice & Peppermint - but this makes a sweet change.”

Amazingly like after eights but without all the sugar and calories. This tea has helped me cut down on the chocolate”

A mint chocolate without the calories

“Liquorice & peppermint was my favourite until... I tried the new chocolate & mint and... wow!!!
I let it brew for a little bit longer than suggested and it's like drinking a mint chocolate... but only better as it only has 3 calories.
This is going to become a favourite for those times when I want indulgence.
I am in love.”

Loved it

“I originally ordered peppermint tea and received some choc & mint tea as part of a promo. I have to say that I absolutely loved it. To be honest though I could eat after eights all day every day so to have a cuppa which tastes like them but without the calories was a gift.”

A treat!

“It tastes high quality and flavorful! Clearly better than non-whole leaf tea bags of other brands. The taste of mint is distinct and refreshing. I find it indulging.”

Not much chocolate taste

* * * - - by Carol • 31st March 2018

“Was looking forward to trying this, but couldn’t taste the chocolate at all, was more minty, still a nice tea, but if you are after a chocolate drink I don’t think this is the one for you”

A little strange for me !

* * - - - by Charlotte McNABB • 3rd December 2015

“Its a little weird for my taste buds im afraid!

Perhaps I will make it with milk next time - I think I am the only person in the world who doesnt enjoy mint teas!

I thought I would ease myself in with a chocolate pairing but its too minty for me !

Just a little heads up for my fellow mint-avoiders - I tried and failed to conquer!”

Not my bag

* * - - - by Tom Hawkins • 25th February 2016

“I ordered it as part of a box of samples. It was really not what I thought it would be like. Rather too earthy in flavour and possibly not minty enough for me. If you are looking for a hot chocolate with mint then best go and make one of those, this tastes very different to that.”

Second dissapointment

* - - - - by Z.F • 5th April 2016

“This was my second disappointment from yourselves. It has an overpowering, toothpaste like taste to it. In comparison to other brands who sell chocolate mint tea, this falls very short. It is also very expensive, with the bags also flimsy that ripped from the sharp shards of cocoa in the bag. I wish I could get my money back.”
