Each season, we choose one of our wonderful stockists who has tagged @teapigs, to find our stockist of the season! This season we have chosen The Ticklebelly Lane Bakery in Lincoln for mentioning teapigs in their feature in The Lincolnite and we wanted to find out a bit more about them....

In 50 words tell us a little bit about The Ticklebelly Lane Bakery:

The Ticklebelly Lane Bakery is a family artisan bakery and tea house which started its life in James’ kitchen with his mum, and quickly grew into the business it is today. We pride ourselves on using only the best ingredients and creating everything from scratch, freshly baked with no preservatives.

What made you choose to stock teapigs?

teapigs is a name we associate with quality and therefore sits well with our philosophy of using the best ingredients! We love the range of teapigs products and the taste of them- the flavours complement our cakes really well, in fact we are teaming a selection of them with some of our cakes to create a tea tasting trio which we are very excited about.

If you could only have one teapigs tea for the rest of your life, which would you pick?

Very tricky question as we could pick all of them for different reasons! We are very taken with the jelly and ice-cream tea as it reminds us of parties, fun times and you can make it into so many drinks including iced tea in the summer!

What made you want to set up shop?

We are passionate about our products- there isn’t anywhere near us that sells artisan bread and cakes like ours. We wanted to share this with the people of Lincoln and bring back real bread to the city centre! We have already had some lovely comments about our products and people travelling to sample our foods.

Have there been any hiccups along the way?

We’d be lying if we said no! Nothing in business is ever plain sailing but as we keep reminding ourselves, nothing that’s worth working for is ever easy!

Apart from tea (obviously!) what is your best seller?

That’s a tricky one! Our sourdough flies off the shelves, our bbq pulled pork in brioche buns are really popular and at the moment our Christmas cake doesn’t stay on the plate very long at all.. followed closely by our range of brownies!
