Each month, we run a competition with our wonderful stockists, to find our stockist of the month! This month, their challenge was to get creative with tea, and the winner was The Coffee Gondola, with their amazing earl grey and blueberry cupcakes!

How long have you been a teapigs stockist and what made you choose our tea?

We made the great decision to start stocking teapigs quite recently - May 2016. The quality of the loose leaf in the tea temple was the deciding factor as well as great interaction and customer service from the lovely tea lights at teapigs!

If you could only have one teapigs tea for the rest of your life, which would you pick?

Sounds like a terrible scenario! However if push came to shove, the darjeeling earl grey is our absolute favourite. The aroma when you pop open up the jar to grab a temple is just incredible, it has such balanced flavour in the cup too.

How do you use teapigs matcha?

We are traditionalists when it comes to Matcha. After spending a year in Japan we still enjoy it most served as a small scoop with hot water and sometimes with a squeeze of lemon. Health and well being in a cup!

What made you want to set up shop?

We saw a gap in the market for high quality take away hot drinks at ski resorts around Europe, so we bought a ski gondola from Canada, honed our coffee making skills and headed for the mountains!

Have there been any hiccups along the way?

Absolutely, the conversion took a year to complete and there were definitely times along the way we wondered if we were trying to create something impossible - there were no blueprints for converting a ski gondola into a mobile coffee shop!

Have you ever had any exciting celeb customers?

At our 1st event we launched at The Telegraph Ski & Snowboard Show in London and in our first few hours we had a couple of Olympic medalist skiiers in the Gondola taking photos!

Apart from tea (obviously!) what is your best seller?

Our friends at Clifton Coffee Roasters in Bristol provide us with outstanding espresso beans that we use for our coffee based drinks. Being a mobile events unit we get to interact with lots of different people at all different times of day and night so we have to be on our toes whether its an early morning flat white or a mid afternoon earl grey through to peppermint hot chocolates in the evening!

What’s the craziest customer request you’ve ever had?

We have had a couple of customers in the past that carry a pint of milk around with them and ask us to use their own milk for adding to their tea/coffee - made us chuckle!
