St Mungos was set up in Battersea back in 1969 with a volunteer run shelter for the homeless and a soup kitchen on site. It soon expanded across London and the South and now too has shelters in Bath and Bristol.

As well as offering emergency shelter, St Mungos works towards preventing homelessness, helping people recover from time being homeless as well as helping people gain the skills needed to get them back to work.

As part of our free tea day birthday celebrations on the 1st November, we’ll be visiting the St Mungos Endell Street Hostel in Covent Garden. This modern hostel has some brilliant on site facilities including a recording studio which plays such an important part in helping people recover from homelessness and enables them to gain some pretty valuable new skills.

Keep an eye on twitter on the 1st of November for updates from St Mungos, plus all the other exciting stuff we’ll be getting up to to celebrate our 7th birthday!
