During the warmer months, our thoughts turn to iced teas and cooling summery drinks, especially smoothies which make a perfect healthy breakfast or afternoon snack. You may already be adding a scoop of matcha to your daily smoothie, but have you ever thought about adding other teas too? A sprinkling of loose tea in your smoothie mix can add some really interesting new flavours and is also a really healthy little boost.

Take a look at this berry rooibos smoothie idea:

Blend a handful of mixed berries (fresh or frozen - a mixture of strawberries, blueberries and raspberries works really well) with a banana, a cup of water, some honey or agave and a tablespoon of loose rooibos & honeybush tea. The sweetness of the rooibos really compliments the berries and as rooibos is naturally caffeine free and packed with antioxidants, you’ll get a healthy treat whatever the time of day.

Why not add some loose tea to your next smoothie – try yerba for an energy boost, mao feng for some antioxidants or peppermint for a little bit of zing!
