Choccie biscuits dunked in tea – a match made in heaven. Strong tea and a hint of dark, rich, chocolate -this blend gives you both. A partnership so very perfect, it belongs between the pages of a Mills and Boon novel.

Louise the tea taster says

how does it taste?

Not sickly sweet hot chocolate, but a far more sophisticated tea and chocolate combo.

good if you're feeling

difficult to please - you know, when you want everything and you want it now? Like wanting the taste of chocolate but without the calories?

How we like it

Indulgent - long brew and full fat milk, much more satisfying than a hot choc.

Chocolate Flake Tea - something different

* * * * * by Christine Sanders • 11th September 2015

“Absolutlely love this. So glad I tried it as I was not sure what to expect. I will now drink it on a regular basis. Delicate chocolate flavour, with a hint of vanilla. Lovely if you dunk a chocolate biscuit it it too

Am a big fan of chai latte, so will now try a chocolate latte.”

Very disappointed

* - - - - by Sanne • 15th May 2015

“When I first tried your Liquorice and Mint I was hooked, and have felt in love with your teas over and over again, but this Chocolate Flake Tea however, was very disappointing. I regret buying this product.”

Not my cup of tea

* * - - - by Michelle Yau • 31st March 2015

“Was a bit disappointed with this to be honest. There was no real flavour of at all and it smelt quite sickly. Won't be buying again, so glad I only brought a sample pack! However, Teapigs, an interesting idea! :)”

Absolutely teapiglicious!

* * * * * by Anastasija Gore • 31st March 2015

“I love this tea! Its like a cake in a mug:)”

Thoroughly disappointed

* - - - - by Chantil • 5th March 2015

“I've had chocolate teas before and so was really looking forward to this one but was seriously disappointed.

For me I didn't feel I could taste the chocolate much at all, or tea for that matter.”

Chocolate Flake Tea

* * * * * by Ellie Stringer • 2nd February 2015

“This is gorgeous, perfect if you on a diet but still want to have a pudding by having this as your after meal tea. I have given it to friends who have come for a cuppa and a chat and all have become converts to it after the initial "ooh not sure I want to try as that sounds weird"”

* - - - - by Keith P • 29th January 2015

“Well I would have hoped for a better cuppa”

"It's alright"

* * * - - by Hilary Menos • 19th January 2015

“Got this a s a free sample, gave it to my eight year old son. Did he like it? "Not particularly" he said, at first, but then changed his response to "It's alright". He liked the smell, didn't finish the tea.”

Simply gorgeous

* * * * * by Anna S • 28th May 2014

“I'm in love with this to the point where I get anxious when I run out!”

Found in a cafe, going to be ordering from now on!

* * * * - by Caroline • 11th May 2014

“I like to have a change from what I normally have when I go out for tea and cake. Saw this tea on the menu in Chelsea Quarter Cafe and decided to try. The smell and flavour are subtle but i enjoyed it immensely especially with the piece of chocolate brownie which complimented the chocolate taste!”

Disappointed chocolate lover

* * - - - by Caroline Corkery • 2nd May 2014

“As a chocaholic, I was like a child at Christmas when this tea arrived - I believe I had the kettle on as soon as I heard the postman outside the door!
Excitedly tearing open the packaging, I dutifully controlled myself and waited the full three minutes before that first taste... but nothing.
The aroma is odd, the taste is bland. I have been experimenting with honey, lattes, brandy, etc. which are all a slight improvement on 'black', but overall, I have to admit, it just doesn't 'do it' for me. Back to the chai, for me!”

Guilt free cheat

* * * * - by Sarah Doyle • 27th March 2014

“Wasn't expecting a great deal from this so i just ordered a sample pack to test it, however with a bit of frothed up soya milk and a teaspoon of honey this is the best treat.

Like hot chocolate but not so heavy, and not so calorific!

Will definitely be buying a bigger pack, just a shame the biggest is 15 temples.”

Tastes like horrible hot chocolate

* - - - - by David • 16th March 2014

“So this is the worst tea ive ever had.I love teapigs but wow. this tastes like a disgusting, watery hot chocolate. Absolutely dreadful.”

Smells weird...tastes SO GOOD

* * * * - by Sophie • 6th February 2014

“I am quite a 'tea sniffer' in that I can't actually drink any tea (english breakfast etc) without sniffing it first. I know that sounds odd but we taste with other senses too! And I hate when my tea smells of milk, so I know I've gone overboard if it starts to smell of milk...anyway, I digress. The reason I started this review that way is because when I initially smelt the bags I was a bit put off, and the smell of the tea when brewed isn't my favourite either...BUT...the taste is AMAZING. It really does feel like a warm hug, soothing, tastes beautiful and I already know the next 14 bags are going to be gone in seconds. Top marks Teapigs!!”

* * * * * by Nicole • 4th February 2014

“This tea is so yummy, just the right amount of chocolate flavour to keep my cravings at bay!”

The best treat

* * * * * by Jessica Majlund • 29th January 2014

“I LOVE this tea,so much! I have mine with slighly frothed soy milk, and it´s awesome. Had to order another package just a few days after this one arrived - I can´t risk having to wait for a new one to come when this is finished! :)”

I can't really make my mind up about this one

* * * - - by Harry Davies • 24th January 2014

“Certainly different. Definitely not a love hate. I'm going to go with someone elses advice and add a little honey”

A Surprising Favorite

* * * * - by Holly • 8th January 2014

“I got a sample of this tea, and didn't think I would care for it much, but I do like it a lot! I love the smell. It's not a strong tea (which I usually like), but it's not weak either (although, I do think it tastes more flavorful brewed in a small mug with less water). Subtle chocolate taste. Love!”

Comfort tea

* * * * * by Lisa • 8th January 2014

“When I first tried this tea I was somewhat disappointed and can't really taste the chocolate it's very subtle, however a few cups later and I am totally hooked. I love it in the evening with a dash of honey for sweetness and find it very comforting. I Would love this in larger boxes.”

So good!

* * * * * by Snorkmaiden • 18th December 2013

“I wasn't expecting this tea to be this good - I had a sample pack and have already ordered more! Perfect if you love to drink hot chocolate but want something a bit lighter. The chocolate is light, sweet and subtle and really doesnt ruin the taste of the tea.”

* * * * * by Joanne Cox • 17th December 2013

“My new favourite to drink before bedtime! I love the subtle hint of chocolateyness ... a lovely cup of tea with a splash of milk that tastes like you've dunked a couple of chocolate digestives in it but without the crumbs at the bottom of the cup! :-)

Lovely with a mint teapig too ... wonder what the chocolate flake teapig would be like with a bit of added orange zest?? Chocolate and orange, my most favourite chocolatey duo! What say you teapigs? .... :-)”

* * * * - by miss judy • 27th November 2013

“subtle, but satisfying - will not deliver a pronounced chocolate flavor, but worth the purchase - w/ a bit of honey it's lovely”

Just like a chocolate digestive

* * * * * by Catherine Stratton • 13th November 2013

“I saw this and thought I would give it a go, and wow. Just tastes like a chocolate digestive biscuit. The chocolate is subtle but there so doesn't ruin a good brew just makes it yummy! I was very good and had it with skimmed milk! New favourtie!”

Love love love.

* * * * * by Jennifer • 21st October 2013

“My cousin directed me to teapigs when I was looking for something new. I received my first shipment in British Columbia, Canada and this was the first tea I tried. It was incredible. While the chocolate may not be strong for some, like a hot chocolate, the faint hint of it was delicious! I am so excited about all the tea I ordered. Another order will follow, with more of this tea, for sure.”

Very disappointed

* - - - - by Rachael Byrne • 14th October 2013

“I had high hopes for this tea being a massive chocoholic and couldn’t wait to try this when it arrived.

I did everything the box said 'brew for 3 mins, try with milk' even tried sugar AND honey and found this tea does NOT taste of chocolate at all.
doesn’t even smell of it.

Very disappointed as most tea pigs products deliver. Would not recommend this or ever buy again.”

Rich and lovely

* * * * * by Jessica Forbes • 24th August 2013

“I had my reservations about this particular tea so I purchased the sample pack. The tea is so rich and lovely - the chocolatey taste makes it feel like a real treat.”

An Interesting Twist...

* * * * - by Jo Smith • 31st May 2013

“When I first tried this tea, back in December 2012, I wasn't overly impressed. Today, I received my latest teapigs order (thankyouverymuch :) ) and inside the parcel, the free sample teabag was this tea. I also had one peppermint teabag left, and I love mint chocolate, so thought I'd experiment! Both teabags in the mug together, and then full-fat milk added when it was ready = DIVINE!

Have you made chocolatey improvements, teapigs? If not, then the peppermint really brings out the chocolateyness. If you like mint chocolate, try it out! :D”

Amazing, wish I had more

* * * * * by Sarah • 13th May 2013

“Can't believe how much I love this tea! I pinched a sample of it from my mum today who was sent it but worried to try it.

The only complaint I have is I want more! and silly placed my order before I had tried this tea!

Doing a readathon so trying to cut down on the rubbish consumed during one and this is perfect, its lovely and refreshing and feels like am having something naughty without the calories or sugar!”

A let down

* * - - - by Sherri • 5th May 2013

“Smelt great when brewed, the smell of the chocolate really came through, but when it came to taste, there was barely a hint of chocolate... Even when brewed for 5+ mins it was still the same, but then they barely add cocoa beans to this, and it's mostly chocolate chips which have little cocoa, and mostly consist of sugar... *or glucose ~shudders~*, which leads me to ask, please list what the chocolate chips are actually made of...”

Choco flake.....those special moments

* * * * * by Lisa • 23rd April 2013

“I'm a massive tea maker. I even have a coffee machine (given to me as a present) and I use it to heat & froth milk to add to my tea!!

I love chocolate flake tea. It's lovely with the smallest dash of milk or even just on its own. I love the smell, it's replaced my hot chocolate. It's not over chocolatey but it's just got a hint of choccy flavour. If you are a lover of dark chocolate, I think you will love this tea.

The only complaint I have is that they don't sell it in boxes of 100!”

This One Converted Me!

* * * * * by Hannah Head • 31st March 2013

“I never liked tea at all until I bought this tea on a whim when I was on holiday a few years ago. I'm a total convert - chocolate and tea, what could be better!”

My new favourite drink!

* * * * * by Liz Sweet • 22nd March 2013

“As a previous lover of hot chocolate but wanting to cut out as much sugar as possible this is an excellent alternative for me. It's not overally sweet but as a Latte adds a hint to the drink and is not to overpowering.

Now, I can't wait to get home to have another one!”

Amazing, totally addicted!

* * * * * by Phoebe Scott • 7th February 2013

“When I first had it I wasn't sure I liked it but I just kept wanting it so now it's pretty much all I drink. Really takes the edge off of chocolate cravings without the flavour being too overwhelming. Definitely worth a try. I love it.”

Not sold

* * - - - by Emma Boyd • 8th January 2013

“Bit of a wishy washy flavour. Not my fave!”

* * * * - by Rach • 7th January 2013

“Not super choc but a nice malty balance. Wasn't that vanillary for me. I had with just water and also hazelnut milk- different tastes the latter more creamier but on its own is comforting. Love it means can have tea without sweetner”

* * - - - by Jo Smith • 20th December 2012

“From the description, I was expecting something more chocolatey, to be honest. Smells heavenly, but even with double cream in, it still tastes more vanilla-y, than chocolatey. Vanilla is nice, but when you're expecting chocolate, it's a bit, well, weird, and not really doing what it says on the box...

More chocolate please!”

* * - - - by Sam Reeves • 21st November 2012

“As a chocolate lover, I was hoping that this tea would be different and really indulgent.

It smells wonderfull however I found it was a tasteless tea with hardly a hint of chocolate flavour.”

* * * * * by Amanda • 21st November 2012

“This is a lovely tea - so refreshing! I was hoping that it might be a little more chocolatey, the flavour is very subtle, but it is so nice, and a real pleasure to drink. There's just enough of a chocolate tinge to make it taste different, but not so much that you're in danger of confusing your beverages! Love it.”

Love it

* * * * * by Joanna Joss • 16th November 2012

“This has got to be one of my favourites! It's not super-chocolatey but it has this lovely rich flavour and sweet smell. I make mine with some semi-skimmed milk and a little sugar for a sweet treat. Make sure you leave it to brew for long enough, because the flavour really needs some time to develop.”

* * * * * by Kate Foxwell • 16th November 2012

“This tea is amazing. Its not sickly sweet there is just a hint and i feel it means we dont need sugar or milk is it rele good and make me feel soo awake and happy”

Good but Not Chocolately

* * * - - by Eunice • 10th November 2012

“smells & tastes good but note the chocolate taste is minimal”

Surprisingly tasty

* * * * - by Hanya Latif • 5th November 2012

“Having looked at quite mixed reviews on here I went ahead and got some.

I let the temple do its thing for few minutes and had a taste without milk. It was far from what I expected. I am not a fan of dark chocolate and this had hints of that bitter type of flavour, however, it was just subtle enough for me to actually enjoy. Maybe I will mix it up with adding milk, a little sugar.

It will be a grower on me.”

* * * * * by GT • 1st November 2012

“It is lovely. Thanks for the sample.”

* - - - - by Sara • 30th October 2012

“Wasn't all that chocolately, which was so-so, but was very disappointed that the main body of the tea was very weedy and not flavoursome.”

Really Unusual

* * * * * by Claire D'Arcy • 11th October 2012

“We tried this when visiting a hotel recently and weren't sure what to expect. Turns out it is lovely. Good tea undertone but with a lovely chocolatey taste. Really good both with and without milk.”

* * * * * by Katie Prior • 26th September 2012

“Not overly chocolatey, but a lovely subtle treat to convert the 3pm tea break! (I add a little sugar and milk, perfect!)”

* * * * * by Claire • 8th September 2012

“Love,love,love this tea! It's a luxurious grown up treat without any of the guilt! It's chocolate and vanilla, smooth and almost creamy and the smell is just DIVINE!”

Wonderful tea!

* * * * * by Judy • 2nd September 2012

“This is just SUCH a nice tea - I think it's my favourite of all the non-standard teas I've tried. Sadly, I can't remember where I bought it, so I've had to come to the website to get my fix! No worries .. I'm discovering more interesting tea!”

* * * * * by Michaela Adams • 9th August 2012

“This tea is such a treat. I find it really relaxing and comforting to drink. Gorgeous real chocolate flavour without being too sweet. I just wish this came in boxes of 50!”

* * * * * by Lisa • 1st August 2012

“This tea is lovely! It has a chocolate "essence" taste rather than if you'd melted a bar of Dairy Milk into your mug, and so it works really well and isn't weird or sickly. It might even replace my regular cuppa!”

Surprisingly nice

* * * * - by Darren Holloway • 30th July 2012

“Wasn't sure what this would be like as not a great fan of chocolate drinks. I was pleasantly surprised by the subtle, mellow flavour, not sickly sweet at all. Perfect with a couple of biscuits.”

just not strong enough

* * * - - by Emma • 8th July 2012

“lovely, and I'll buy again, but I wish the tea part was slightly stronger. I've ended up leaving the tea bag in while I drink.”

The Best Tea Ever!

* * * * * by Hazel • 8th May 2012

“This is without a doubt the best tea ever!

You think it wouldn't work, but believe me that thought will never cross your mind again after you have tried it.

It has a a sweet delicate and aromatic flavour, that is perfect for that 11 O'clock tea break and It stops me reaching for the biscuit barrel. Win, Win!”

lovely cuppa tea

* * * * * by catalina • 2nd May 2012

“I was not sure what to expect from this flavoured black tea, but i am more then pleased with my purchase. it has a suble chocolate flavour and a gorgeous smell. I had it both with and without milk and love it just the same. one of my favourite teas:)”

* * * * * by Jo • 16th February 2012

“I'm loving this tea, lovely chocolatey undertone and not at all sickly unless you stick cream in it. (Amazing as an occasional treat, bad idea on a regular basis if you don't have a really sweet tooth)”

* * * * * by Laura • 15th February 2012

“Very delicious. Taste and smell are strong enough, at least for me, to cope with chocolate craving. Hope it will help me to loose weight. I wish it was available not only in temples but in loose tea pack too.”

* * * * * by Samantha warren • 30th January 2012

“I tried this tea having read some reviews, so I wasn't expecting something sweet or similar to hot chocolate. The dark chocolate taste is definitely there if left to brew properly, and gives the tea a very earthy, deep savoury flavour which is lovely.”

Subtle but gorgeous

* * * * * by Natalie • 17th January 2012

“This tea is lovely to drink as an everyday-type tea, personally I leave it to brew for quite a while and add milk. The result is a creamy tea with an undertone of chocolate - don't buy this tea expecting a cup of chocolate but although the taste is subtle it really does make the world of difference! Addicted, as is everyone I know who has tried it!”

Very disappointing

* - - - - by Laura • 30th December 2011

“I've had other chocolate teas that were like dessert without the calories. After reading the reviews I had high hopes about this one, but was very disappointed as there was only the slightest hint of chocolate which was mostly the aroma. Otherwise this tasted like ordinary tea. Much prefer the winter spice tea.”

* * * * * by Ann McD • 17th December 2011

“We got these 1st in Ambleside, only place we've ever seen them. late night treat for us, so subtle... have ordered plenty. Thanks for a good product”

Winter favourite

* * * * - by Catherine • 14th December 2011

“I've tried it on its own, with sugar, with sugar and milk etc.

In my opinion the best way is with plenty of sugar and milk. (I also add a drop of toffee nut syrup). It really brings out the raw chocolate taste.”

Love these for a change.

* * * * * by • 16th June 2011

“I tried these because they sounded so nice. They are so creamy and so moreish. When I tried these my mum and sister was round put it this way my 15 tea bags have now nearly gone and they have both putting orders in.”

It takes time

* * * * * by • 16th April 2011

“I didn't like it at first but when I tried it again I left it for a long brew and had it black with one sugar. I love the subtle chocolate after taste. Don't take this expecting a hot chocolate type taste its nowhere near that but it is enjoyable.. I'm ordering more now!”

Dont be fooled

* * * * * by • 4th March 2011

“Does not taste like chocolate, it tastes like tea that has had chocolate biscuits dunked in it :D The taste is really good, and I was amazed the description was so accurate. Im just warning those people who didnt read it properly like I didnt and expected it to taste like chocolate lol.”

Romantic and Indulgent

* * * * * by • 25th January 2011

“After playing around with this tea a few times, I happily share with you the way to get the most out of it. Some of you say this tea is too weak. The trick? Brew it in 4 oz of water - no more than that - and add healthy amounts of sugar and cream. It's perfect this way! Try it. You will love it.”

* * * * - by • 14th January 2011

“nothing very much”

* * * * * by • 10th January 2011

“I got the sample pack of these thinking this will never work, chocolate and tea!!! How wrong was I, this is delish, the chocolaty taste is like the best expensive chocolate, not really sweet like I was thinking it would be. Now I have to order the bigger pack as I think this could become an addiction - esp as I have given up chocolate for Jan but this doesn't count if its in a tea does it!!!!”

not chocolatey enough for me

* * - - - by • 6th January 2011

“baffled by comments saying it tastes better than hot chocolate. this is a high quality, herby tea that smells slightly chocolatey.. but for me it really doesn't taste much of chocolate - maybe the faintest, faintest hint. was similarly disappointed by the creme caramel. i can really appreciate the quality, but for me it doesn't taste how i was hoping.”

Chocolate flake tea

“Had this bought for me for Christmas...absolutley love it, perfect winter morning pick me up!”

* * * * * by • 14th December 2010

“This tea is simply divine! It's like a hot chocolate without the calories, like a cuppa without the sugar, tea without the biscuits! It's absolutely scrumptious, perfect with a little milk just before bed, helps me to drift off in to a lovely sleep and it tastes gorgeous. Only got a taster, but I am going to buy a big pack of these. My new favourites.”

Lovely stuff

* * * * * by • 10th October 2010

“This is divine - creamy and tastes like tea after chocolate biscuits have been dunked in. Much better without sugar as it is so creamy.”

* - - - - by • 18th September 2010

“weak, watery and bland
go for the english breakfast with lots of sugar, just as good...
You can use this as normal tea it is so bland
dont waste your money
Sorry teapigs i usually love your tea, but this is a misfire”

* * * * * by • 17th September 2010

“Just bought the Chocolate tea and it's absolutely yummy! Added a bit of milk and had it with shortbread - a real treat! Well done Teapigs for yet another great tea!”

* * - - - by • 29th June 2010

“I really found this tea to be weak and uninspiring.. which is such a shame as I love the rooibbos creme caramel tea. it only has a mere hint of chocolate so to be honest, I'd rather crack open the jar of options for that guilt free chocolate hit.”

Chocolate Flake Tea

Shame really, as it sounded like such a good idea!”

Chocolate flake tea

* * * * * by • 6th November 2009

“Having been disappointed in the past with 'flavoured' teas, I was somewhat sceptical about a drink that promised tea and chocolate in one cup. To my delighted surprise, it does exactly what it says on the tin! An indescribable taste that truly combines a cuppa and a chocolate biscuit.”

mmm just had my first cup of chocolate flake tea...

“Oh my god the perfect cuppa for taking "me time"! I cant get enough of it! I LOVE IT!”

Is it a bird? Is it a plane?

* * * * * by • 3rd August 2009

“How delightful but bizarre is chocolate flake tea! Let your nostrils bathe in its steam and you're brain will be tricked to think it's definitely a delicious cup of hot chocolate. Take a sip and your brain tumbles upside down and inside out: IT'S TEA!

Entertaining experience - like taking a ride on the most terrifying roller coaster over and over again: queuing in ecstatic state (preparing the tea), reaching the top of the roller coaster just before the drop (smelling the tea), being dropped almost vertical 100mph (tasting the tea), reaching the end with heart pumping 195 beats per minute (utter confusion), leaving the ride screaming "Whoaaaa!! Let's do it again!" (finishing the cup screaming "Whoaaaa!! Let's do it again!").

Totally recommend.”

Like a cuddle in a cup.

“Absolutely adore this tea, from the smell to the taste I wasn't dissapointed. Not sweet and sickly, but warm, malty and comforting. Well done teapigs you've done it again. A wee cracker of a cuppa.”

Indulgence ! Pure Indulgence!

The taste is gorgeous, I never knew tea and chocolate went together so brilliantly. This tea is one of my favourites and it would make an amazing gift - I'm going to get stocked up for Xmas and Birthdays!”

“I really like this tea. For me, it tastes more like chocolate the less time you leave it to brew, so I'd recommend leaving it in for just a minute or so. Was kind enough (grudgingly) to give a tea bag to each of my staff and they all loved it. Wouldn't have it every day like the oolong, just as a treat when in the mood.”

Warning: Highly Addictive!

“So comforting and relaxing, has a lovely smell and subtle chocolate taste. I've always been a coffee addict rather than a tea drinker but the Teapigs Chocolate tea has completely converted me. I'd take this over any other hot drink. Both myself and my husband love it and I've now converted my Mum too! Respect to Teapigs! x”

Early days for this tea

“Have tried this chocolatey tea but still not so sure about it. Will keep drinking it and see if it grows on me.

Thanks, Michelle”

Yum yum

“I had trouble with this at first as I am a cheap-chocolate junkie to a disgusting level. So I expected it to be sugary, really chocolatey, 'gimmicky'. But it shouldn't be. If you approach this expecting a hot chocolate contocion you will be disappointed but if you approach this as a tea you will be very pleased. It's basically a lovely black tea with a comforting, chocolatey, almost malty hint, as if you dipped a couple of chocolate coated biscuits in before you took a sip. I will certainly get this again.”

“I found this tea quite awful! I thought it was going to taste lke a strong hot chocolate but know its a horrible weak formula that gives you no type of hints of chocolate what so ever! it is even worse with milk!”

Don't ever buy hot chocolate again!

“This is the tastiest, most indulgent tea I've ever had. It's like having a cuddle with every sip. Hot chocolate or chocolate/coffee combos will only taste chemically from now on!”

“I don't really have a sweet tooth but thought I'd try this anyway as a vegan who doesn't eat chocolate that much.

It really is what it says on the (sample) tin, velvety! It's chocolatey but without being too sweet or 'thick'.

Anyone who says it isn't chocolatey enough is clearly more used to mass-manufactured, additive-full chocolate drinks which are so unhealthy it's unreal.

Try it, it's ace!”

“I am not usually keen on tea mixed with different flavours, but this was a pleasant surprise. I brew my teas quite weak, so there was more of a vanilla rather than a chocolate taste, but this was very pleasant. I would definitely recommend this, especially as an afternoon pick-me-up!”

Tea and chocolate - yummy!

“We both really like this tea! I am not keen on what I think of as gimmik-tea so was quite sceptical about it, only ordering the trial pack. On taking a sip you get the chocolate and then tea, so well balanced and delicate, and not at all 'gimmiky'. My hubby enjoyed it just as much as I did!
I will be making this a regular order!!”

Nice in theory - Not so in practice

“The tea temple smelt magnificent the chocolatey aroma so strong that even my 18 month old knew that there seemed to be chocolate in there until I brewed it. When I tasted it - the subtle taste was what I had expected from the not so positive reviews on here and I apprieciated that the reviews were so honest.

The drink was not unpleasent just rather non descript and a little Boring.”

A good mixer...

“When I first tried the chocolate tea I was a little disappointed that it wasn't more chocolatey, but then this is a tea not a hot chocolate.

What I did soon discover is that this tea is brilliant when brewed together with the chilli tea - the two flavours complement each other to produce a combination that dances over the tongue in a decidedly latin fashion!”

Dubious? Don't be!

“I was more than a little intrigued by the idea of a chocolate tea and I was sure I was going to be really disappointed by it. How wrong I was! First you get the taste of the tea, then the chocolate comes!! Amazing...try it, it's wonderful...!!!”

“This tea is'nt unpleasant at all, it's nice with a little sweetness and a light chocolaty flavour. It would be nice to know if the chocolate is dark or milk (suitable for vegans ?) It's ok, but not as good or unusual as the chillie version!”

Best chocolate tea I've tried

“This smells so delicious; very creamy and heavy on the chocolate. Once brewed, it isn't quite as chocolate-y as I was hoping for but chocolate tea never really is, in my experience. That said, this is the very best chocolate tea I've tried to date. I had it with a splash of milk, nothing else, and it was a wonderfully smooth, indulgent cup. Very relaxing. I can see myself reaching for this a lot in future.”

“...then run for tea cupboard and have a cup of this love cholocate tea - the best satisfying drink to keep you slim and make you happy. I teach slimming fitness classes and I recommended to all my students as aid in their quest of losing pounds.”

A Subtle Treat!

“Not as chocolatey as I'd hoped but definitely yummy! I prefer my teas without milk or sugar and this one taste good like this - nice with milk & sugar too though! My tea order arrived really quickly and the packaging is brilliant - the teabags smell lovely! :-)”

“After taking over a week to arrive im not impressed, its not chocolatey enough and just tastes like a normal cup of tea.. only worse. Stick to your hot chocolate or dunking your biscuit!”

Better than a choc biscuit!

“I'm hooked on chocolate flake tea and it's so healthy. It doesn't need any bad things just enjoy it has it comes.”

Intriguing, dark and sultry!

“doesn't taste at all as would expect - tastes lovely but not necessarily like chocolate. It's smooth and rich and really delicious - its an intriguing tea (I guess good chocolate should be intriguing) its complex and absolutely unique. The smell is phenomenal and is just so indulgent.I think I'm hooked!”

a marriage made in heaven

“This tea is ideal for a mid-afternoon pick-me-up and you can really taste the chocolate. A great way to get a chocolate hit without eating any! Chocolate and tea really do go together very well indeed.”

“Not at all sugary sweet as you might expect. I drink this strong and black to let the earthy chocolatey flavour shine through. The aroma is heaven too. A perfect cuppa to indulge after a bad day!”

“sorry guys, a little disapointed with this one..seemed to be no real flavour”

“delicious with a little milk. subtle chocolatey flavor.”

How indulgent

“This is a really surprising tea. It's chocolatey but not sickly. I think its best served strong to really get the flavour of the chocolate. I can see myself drinking through the packet really fast - I would love you to give the option of a 100g bag.

I did have a good strong cup for breakfast this morning so you don't need to leave it until afternoon tea.”
