A nutrient rich blend of rooibos (Afrikaans for "red bush") and honey bush, two native South African shrubs. They grow only in the Cederburg mountain region of South Africa, and are harvested and prepared in much the same way as regular tea. **please note** we have recently made a little change to the name on the packaging from 'rooibos' to 'honeybush & rooibos' - but don't worry this is exactly the same blend - just a simple name change.

“Been using Rooibos for years, and it is brilliant. Is one of the main teas in South Africa
Just to note, its always been called Rooibos in SA, so not a new name
I prefer mine with no milk and a little bit of sugar”

Honeybush and Rooibos - the queen of teas!

“This tea is perfect; I've been a huge fan of rooibos and vanilla but this tea has taken rooibos infusions to another level.

It's a beautiful clean, clear tea with an undertone of rooibos. The honeybush adds wonderful depth and a comforting sweetness to the tea. Definately my new favourite!

The tea is far superior to any other tea that I have used, the flakes are HUGE and the tea temples enable them to roll around setting free the rich, golden amber.”

A little bit of heaven

“I bought a few different Teapigs tea samples to try out and Rooibos was one of them. I tried a Red Bush tea freebie a few years ago and really liked it but can't remember the brand so could never find it again.

I decided to try Teapigs Rooibos and see if it was any good.

After a long day in work, there's nothing better than coming home and getting into pjs, stretching out on the sofa with a hot cup of Rooibos tea and feeling the warm evening sun and gentle breeze through the open window on your face as you relax. It's a little bit of heaven to enjoy.

The tea smell is amazing! Really soothing and earthy. I sweetened the tea with a teaspoon of honey as I tend to like mine with a little sweetness. After my first cup I added more boiling water and now enjoying my 2nd cup. The taste isn't as strong as the first cup but its a lighter version of it... still very nice though!

Would totally recommend :)”

Gorgeous earthy-tasting tea!

“This has got to be my new all-time favourite tea!! It's got a natural earthy taste to it with a very subtle smokey undertone. The first time I tried it I didn't think the honeybush rooibos was sweet and much preferred the natural sweetness of the caramel rooibos instead... having been drinking this tea for a few weeks now I've become completely hooked on the honeybush rooibos! Don't add milk to this; drink it as it is! Add a spoonful of low-calorie sweetener and this tea becomes highly addictive!!”

“Long before fruit and herbal teas were the Norm I have been a fan, but this Honeybush Rooibos stands at the top of my list and I have only just discovered it! It has a subtle honey flavour and a very pleasing depth of colour. I enjoy it in a pot for one. Going to try the Caramel one too.”

“I'm smitten with this tea. I'm a new gal to the world of the temples and I love them. I can't drink caffeine and the world of herbal tea drinking got a whole load more exciting when I discovered Teapigs :-) The colour and taste of this tea is exquisite. Very refined taste with rich honey undertones - yummy! They arrived yesterday and I've already used 5 of them - all hail the world of the Teapigs and here's to Tea domination :-) Lots of love, S-A xx”

A Tasty Little Number...

“I've been experimenting with your rooibos tea. To start with I found I didn't like the taste, so I've been adding honey, I've settled on half a teaspoon, as it makes it sweeter but not sickly. Then, just now, I was making a mug, and was thinking as it was brewing how much it looked like ordinary black tea, so I figured I could probably put milk in it, but decided that would be boring, so I put cream in instead! It's made it look like milky tea, and it tastes somewhere between that and rice pudding! Nomnomnom... :)”

“Really gorgeous tea, never bitter even if you do leave it to brew too long.

Naturally sweet enough so it's great if you're avoiding excess sugars - I personally don't think you need to add anything to it (except water of course!)

Cannot fault it, I love it!”

Rooibos was never a palatable tea to me till I tried this one....absolutely gorgeous and the one I take to work to drink in my teapigs glass cup and saucer ... no sugar, just plain and it looks very pretty too”

“I really couldn't stand rooibos tea until I 'accidentally' tried this at a hotel. I asked for a decaf with breakfast and was served this. Intrigued, as I wasn't aware of a teapigs decaf, I contacted teapigs hq and was told it was rooibos (the lovely Becky even checked the hotel orders to confirm). Great tea, totally unlike any redbush I'd tried before. Will get a 50 box to supplement my Yorkshire decaf.”

Organic Honey Bush and Rooibos Tea

“Very pleasant aroma and almost woody, earthy taste to this tea. Nice with a small amount of milk, but equally with none in at all. Very refreshing.”

Dissapointed - this is not Rooibos

* - - - - by Sian Steinberg • 22nd January 2013

“I was recently disappointed after ordering this tea in a John Lewis cafe. I'm a South African and I regularly drink Rooibos and therefore was very surprised when I instead received a cup of a Rooibos/Honeybush tea blend. I believe that this tea should be sold as such and not simply as Rooibos since the flavour profiles of these two teas are distinctly different.”
