We all know matcha is good for you, I mean really really good, is there anything that tea can’t do? But did you know it’s also an incredibly versatile ingredient? In Japan, where matcha originates, it’s used in all sorts of baking, ice-creams and even cooking. What better way to demonstrate this than with our friends and stockists Hey Little Cupcake!

They’ve made yummy matcha cupcakes before, and this year they’ve made these super-cute matcha cakepops! Made with matcha sponge and bright green matcha icing, they’re lovely and sweet with just the right amount of matcha flavour (I may have had a cheeky sample on a trip up to Manchester…). I know, consuming matcha in cake form seems to counteract all the goodness, but that’s simply not the case. It’s only a small treat and you’re still getting all of the amino acids, antioxidants, energy boost and skin-healthy ingredients. The only thing we can’t guarantee is that it’ll help with weight loss and detox! (5:2ers, not one for the fast days!)

They’re available on the Hey Little Cupcake website from today and can be posted all over the UK! We’ve also got a cheeky little competition running to win six of these beauties as well as a pack of matcha.

We’d love to see you getting creative with matcha too.
