Each month, we give our wonderful stockists a different theme and ask them to send us photos of how they best show off our teas. We then pick who has tagged #teapigsstockist on social, with the best picture to find our stockist of the season! This month we have chosen Teacup Tearoom for showing us how the beat the winter blues with a picture of a perfect matcha latte.  We asked them a few questions to find out a bit more about them...

You’ve got 50 words to describe your business…go!

Nestled within the delightful coastal village of Mevagissey is the ‘Teacup Tearoom’ – a vintage dog friendly tearoom that welcomes all its customers as if they were old friends.

The husband and wife team believe their friendly service and showcasing great local produce, is the reason the Tearoom has been buzzing since opening in 2018.

What made you decide to choose teapigs?

Having lived overseas for the past 10 years, we had been regular drinkers of teapigs and knew that once we opened the Tearoom we would be looking to bring the teapigs experience to Mevagissey. We only work with suppliers that we feel have values aligned to ours in terms of providing sustainable high quality products and also giving back to the communities they work in – this is at the heart of what teapigs do so it was an easy choice for us.

If you could only have one teapigs tea for the rest of your life, which would you pick?

For me is has to be the Chocolate Flake’ tea, whilst living in Hong Kong I became addicted to making Chocolate Flake Lattes, they were so nice and hardly naughty at all!

What made you want to setup your tearoom?

Our philosophy is that life has become so rushed for many people, grabbing drinks and food on the go and we wanted to create an environment where people could gather and take time to relax and really enjoy things like a lovely pot of real tea served in a Bone China teapot and enjoy homemade scones that are still warm from the oven. Customers have said its like receiving a warm hug when they enter the Tearoom, that’s exactly the feeling we wanted to provide when we set it up.

If we were to come by to your tearoom, what’s your best seller?

Our homemade scones have a fan club of their own – we have customers who travel great distances just to get their fix of this Cornish Classic, all being served with a generous portion of locally made jam and clotted cream. They are baked on the premises daily and the tearoom is filled with the scent of them baking in the oven or staying warm and cosy in their own little scone warmer on the counter.

We had some fab entires this month, and thought we'd share a few of our other faves:
