Description

Chocolate Flake Ceylon Black tea Sourced from:
Ceylon Black tea

Louise the tea taster says

Choccie biscuits dunked in tea – a match made in heaven. Strong tea and a hint of dark, rich, chocolate -this blend gives you both. A partnership so very perfect, it belongs between the pages of a Mills and Boon novel.

How does it taste?

Not sickly sweet hot chocolate, but a far more sophisticated tea and chocolate combo.

Good if you're feeling

difficult to please - you know, when you want everything and you want it now? Like wanting the taste of chocolate but without the calories?

caffeine

Brew Time

    Boiling Water
  • brew_for_3_minutes
    Brew for 3+ minutes
  • Tea temple - 1 per person. Infuse in boiling water. Brew for 3+ minutes.

Whole leaves take longer to brew, but the little wait is definitely worth it.

How we like it

Indulgent - long brew and full fat milk, much more satifying than a hot choc.

Iced

Just cover one tea temple with boiling water and infuse for 3 minutes. Remove temple and top-up glass with iced water.

An Interesting Twist...

When I first tried this tea, back in December 2012, I wasn't overly impressed. Today, I received my latest teapigs order (thankyouverymuch :) ) and inside the parcel, the free sample teabag was this tea. I also had one peppermint teabag left, and I love mint chocolate, so thought I'd experiment! Both teabags in the mug together, and then full-fat milk added when it was ready = DIVINE!

Have you made chocolatey improvements, teapigs? If not, then the peppermint really brings out the chocolateyness. If you like mint chocolate, try it out! :D

Amazing, wish I had more

Can't believe how much I love this tea! I pinched a sample of it from my mum today who was sent it but worried to try it.

The only complaint I have is I want more! and silly placed my order before I had tried this tea!

Doing a readathon so trying to cut down on the rubbish consumed during one and this is perfect, its lovely and refreshing and feels like am having something naughty without the calories or sugar!

A let down

Smelt great when brewed, the smell of the chocolate really came through, but when it came to taste, there was barely a hint of chocolate... Even when brewed for 5+ mins it was still the same, but then they barely add cocoa beans to this, and it's mostly chocolate chips which have little cocoa, and mostly consist of sugar... *or glucose ~shudders~*, which leads me to ask, please list what the chocolate chips are actually made of...

Choco flake.....those special moments

I'm a massive tea maker. I even have a coffee machine (given to me as a present) and I use it to heat & froth milk to add to my tea!!

I love chocolate flake tea. It's lovely with the smallest dash of milk or even just on its own. I love the smell, it's replaced my hot chocolate. It's not over chocolatey but it's just got a hint of choccy flavour. If you are a lover of dark chocolate, I think you will love this tea.

The only complaint I have is that they don't sell it in boxes of 100!

This One Converted Me!

I never liked tea at all until I bought this tea on a whim when I was on holiday a few years ago. I'm a total convert - chocolate and tea, what could be better!
