Blooming Great Tea Party

Every year thousands of people put the kettle on and hold a tea party to help raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care's Blooming Great Tea Party Campaign. You can hold a party at home, in the office, at school or college, in the park or local club- it's entirely up to you. The party can be as big or small as you like - some people hold a larger event and sell tickets, others ask for donations or hold a raffle.

Being tea nuts, we think holding a tea party to raise money for such a worthwhile cause is genius.

The Blooming Great Tea Party season officially runs from 12th June - 12th July but you can hold your party before or after. For more information, and to receive a fundraising pack, please see here.

Don't forget to stock up on plenty of teapigs tea for your party here!

This coming weekend (15/16th May) teapigs will be exhibiting at the first ever UK Coffee Festival being held at the Recreational Ground in Bath, Somerset. Well, someone had to stand up for our national drink and fly the flag for real tea. So if you are in the area please do pop along and say hello. We'll have our complete range of tea temples on sale at special festival prices. Free admission for all. Celebrity chef Martin Blunos will be around all weekend and you can even get to learn to Salsa or Samba.

behind the scenes

Nicole and Nick had a day out in Kent today. Well, a half day to be exact at our very friendly and very efficient distribution company, Lenham Storage. These are the guys who look after all our boxes of tea and make sure that they get sent to all the shops, cafes, restaurants, bars, pubs, and hotels who serve and sell teapigs. A vital link in the supply chain as they say in the world of logistics. So, a big thanks to all the team there and especially to Linda (pictured) who basically sorts everything for us in such a friendly and helpful manner. What a star.

teapigs at St Paul's

Alex and I (Sofia) are feeling a little tiny bit worse for wear today thanks to our friends at the Anthologist Bar, St Paul's. The Anthologist is the City's latest teapigs stockist (hurrah!) and yesterday was their opening night where we were treated to scrummy food and lots of bubbly (making me feel like Carrie, from Sex in the City). Anyways, next time you're in the City and fancy some teapigs pop into this place. The staff are very friendly and know how to make the most perfect cup of tea thanks to Nick's training session last week (photos below). Enjoy!

I spy with my little eye.... a wee teapigs display behind the counter...

avez-vous un cuppa?

Well, if you are lucky enough to be visiting Paris then you can now have your favourite teapigs tea at Lina's, 61 rue Pierre Charron (just off the Champs Elysees). As their shop front says, they make beautiful sandwiches as well as some great salads, tartes, desserts and cakes. Their friendly staff will be more than happy to serve you with some delicious tea so brush up on your French and perfect your accent when asking for your favourite cuppa. (by Nick).

new packs

We've made a few small changes to our packs. Many of you wrote to us saying wouldn't it be nice to put something on the side of our packs so that when they are lined up in a kitchen cupboard you could identify which teapig was which. Very simple. Very good idea. Thank you. Consider it done. We've also added some foreign languages to help all those lovely people in far away places know how we make our teas. Our "new improved" packs available now. Same great tea inside.

teapigs at London Fashion Week!

We are sooo trendy here at teapigs! Actually, I'm not sure about us being super fashionable, but our lovely little teapigs envelopes certainly are!
The lucky people of London Fashion Week 2010 received a fantastic YSH goody bag which featured lots of bits and pieces, including our very own teapigs tea temples.
dsc_0014.jpg
As well as being on the front row benches of shows, the goody bags were given away outside Somerset House. British actress Joely Richardson, Sarah Brown the PM's wife and Harold Tillman the chief of fashion label Jaeger were among some of the famous faces to get their hands on a precious teapigs tea temple. We are continuing to work with YSH and in our latest competition have asked budding arties to desgin us a wonderful poster for our ongoing real tea mission....get the kettle on and the creative juices flowing!

Love it or loath it, we all know that it is Valtentine's day this Sunday.

Love.jpg
Named after early Christian martyrs called Valentine, the day was established by Pope Gelasius I in 496 AD. Traditionally it's a day on which lovers express their love for each other by giving flowers, choccies, cards and maybe even some lovely teapigs tea!
