tung ting oolong, skin and zest

Our very special tung ting oolong was featured in Zest magazine this month due to its tungtastic health properties. Oolong tea is rich in antioxidants and is reported to boost your metabolism and benefit the skin. You can read more about oolong tea here but, if we're honest, we just love it cause it tastes great - oh, and we love watching the leaves swell and unfurl in our cups!

afternoon tea anyone?

I'm sure, like me, most of you can enjoy a cup of freshly brewed teapigs at any time of the day (or night!) but for fans of 'afternoon tea', The Langham Hotel in London has been named the best place to enjoy a spot of the traditional lifestyle! afternoontea01.jpg
Every April, Irene Gorman of The Tea Guild - an organisation representing 100 of the UK's most prestigious tea places - casts her beady eye over establishments across the UK and decifers a winner of both Top Afternoon London Tea and Top Tea Place. Palm Court at The Langham joins a whole host of previous top-knotch winners including the The Dorchester, The Lanesborough and Browns Hotel.
Starting at £35.00 per person, it's not a cheap treat but we love the fact that tea is getting so much attention! Whether you like to splash out on a whole afternoon, or curl up on the sofa with your favourite teapigs brew - tea is terrific and we love it!

teapigs at London Fashion Week!

We are sooo trendy here at teapigs! Actually, I'm not sure about us being super fashionable, but our lovely little teapigs envelopes certainly are!
The lucky people of London Fashion Week 2010 received a fantastic YSH goody bag which featured lots of bits and pieces, including our very own teapigs tea temples.

As well as being on the front row benches of shows, the goody bags were given away outside Somerset House. British actress Joely Richardson, Sarah Brown the PM's wife and Harold Tillman the chief of fashion label Jaeger were among some of the famous faces to get their hands on a precious teapigs tea temple. We are continuing to work with YSH and in our latest competition have asked budding arties to desgin us a wonderful poster for our ongoing real tea mission....get the kettle on and the creative juices flowing!

A study at Sheffield University found 65 per cent of Britons have a particular cup they like to drink from. Whether it is fine bone china ( like nicole) or chipped and stained ( like nick) your mug of choice genuinely does make your brew taste better.
