english breakfast name change
Posted 12th December 2011 by Louise
Lots of people have asked us why don’t you offer an everyday regular tea? Something that can be drunk instead of the big branded slop found in every supermarket. Well, we do and always have, it’s our signature blend, english breakfast. So to make it absolutely clear that this isn’t some fancy tea just to be drunk by noble people on special occasions we’ve renamed it everyday brew. Pure and simple. A tea for everyone at anytime of the day. Don’t worry, it’s the same great tea inside so there will be no surprises if you are a regular drinker.
However, something that is new about everyday brew is the fact that for every pack we sell, we’ll be making a contribution towards our ethical scheme, currently supporting Noel Orphanage in Rwanda. The orphanage is adjacent to the tea estate from where we source much of our tea. We’ll be donating 5p from each 15s pack and 15p from every 50s pack to the orphanage. A little goes a very long way to improve the lives of the 600+ children who live there and these contributions will make a significant difference. As well as drinking lots of everyday brew we continue to encourage you to make donations when shopping online with us which we’ll continue to match, like for like. Learn more about our ethical scheme here.

Along with all these new fans, we've been out on our the real tea tour too! It was lovely to see so many of you at Spirit of Christmas and Masterchef this year, it's always nice to meet our customers face to face and have a good old natter about the wonders of real tea! The Tea and Coffee festival on London's Southbank this weekend was brilliant and still left on the calendar is Taste of Christmas between 2nd- 4th Decemeber at Excel. We're really excited about it this year as Jamie Oliver is there, we're so hoping he pop's by our stand (it's stand no. 634 if you're reading this Jamie!). We know he's a big fan already as he has our teas in Jamie's Italian, Fifteen, Barbacoa and Jamie's Fabulous Feasts at Bicester Village! If you fancy coming along to Taste of Christmas we've got 4 pairs of tickets to give away.... all you have to do is comment on this blog and the first four people win!
teapigs go skiing
Posted 14th November 2011 by Katie
We're spreading the real tea word one place at a time and this winter teapigs will be making it all the way to the alps thanks to our friends at Kaluma Travel. They say say that a ski chalet should be a home from home and no home is complete without some lovely teapigs teas is it?
They have two chalets located at Courchevel 1850, one with accommodation for 10-12 people and one for 8-10 people. Both are within walking distance from the town centre and are right next to the Chenus Piste. Their third chalet is situated right in the heart of St Anton, minutes from the piste and all the hustle and bustle of a ski town centre.
teapigs peppermint, mao feng green tea and chamomile flowers will be served at all three chalets this winter. If you have any favorite holiday destinations you'd like to see teapigs in, let us know and we'll get in touch with them - you can comment below.
Lots of you have said you like to take your favorite tea on holiday with you, so if any of you are taking teapigs skiing this season, please do send us a photo of you enjoying it - we'll feature you on our blog! Just email hannah@teapigs.co.uk.
